The new millennium has led us to the threshold of a revolution, a dynamic change, which is an amalgamation of the various developments in the technological, economic, social sector and International relations. The effects of globalization and our various International commitments in this regard have left us with no option but to rethink and revamp our techno-economic and related laws and follow-up with necessary action.
As part of the developing world, with a vast store of Intellectual Property in all its manifestations, it is the urgent need of the hour to have a better understanding of these subjects.
So also, in order to survive and progress in the expanding, competitive world market and build a competitive industrial sector, there is an urgent need to streamline among others, our labour laws, dispute settlement mechanisms, specifically arbitration and moreover manage the change that has come over all spheres of our lives as professionals and as institutions. This is all the more the need of the day, especially with the lifting of the protective umbrella on account of the shift from protectionism to globalization.

Towards this end, the V. M. Salgaocar College of Law organized this National Symposium, aptly titled "Millennium laws For India Inc.", as a platform for such intellectual understanding and rethinking.
