Cyber Legal Aid - History of Legal Aid at V. M. Salgaocar College

Situated at a very prominent location in the capital city of the State of Goa, the V. M. Salgaocar College of Law has been the epicenter of legal studies in Goa consistently for the past three decades.

Pioneers of legal education in Goa, the V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, has since its very inception scaled heights uncommon to common man. With a strong desire to serve the society dually, by providing free legal assistance to the general public as well as by producing competent and socially sensitive legal professionals, the college started “V. M. Salgaocar College of Law Legal Aid Society” in the year 1998.

Today, the Legal Aid Society of this College has grown and spread the ambit of its activities all over Goa and beyond, regardless of physical frontiers and driven only by its sincere desire to contribute in whatever little way it can to secure justice to every person in the society.

Objectives of the Society

To conduct Legal Awareness Campaigns preferably in the remote corners of the states.
To provide legal aid to those who are needy and hence unable to approach the Court for justice.
To create awareness among the students regarding the actual socio-legal situation in the country.
To enable the students to analyze, interpret and implement various legal and constitutional provisions available for the benefit of the poor and the deprived classes.
To provide practical training to the students, in the field of advocacy.
