There is a need to uphold the rights of a child as Children are the future citizens . A child being easily vulnerable to Abuse, awareness has to be created on the different types of abuses which can be faced by them like physical,sexual,verbal or emotional & also the immediate remedies which are available to them.With such desire in mind, the members of the Cyber Legal Aid conducted a Programme on Child rights in the Saligao Panchayat Hall for the people of the Saligao village.

The programme was conducted in konkani & began at 3.30 with a brief introduction given by a member of Cyber Legal Aid Mr. Amey Phadte. He addressed the gathering and requsted our Chief guest Mrs.Mary Fernandes the Sarpanch of the Saligao Panchayat,Ms. Deepti & Ms. Snehal Salgaocar members of the Childrens Rights in Goa to the dais. Bouquets were then presented by our members(Neha Kholkar,Yunna Pinheiro & Ula Luis) to our chief guest & guest speakers respectively.Shivraj Gaonkar a member of Cyber Legal aid cell then went on to explain the concept of child rights,child abuse & paedophilia. It was then followed by two skits enacted on child trafficking & child labour,the roles were acted by some members.(Shivraj Gaonkar,Omkar Chandelkar,Yunna Pinheiro and Vijayshree Irraker).
The members of the Children’s Rights In Goa then enlighted those present on the 49 points of the United Nations Convention Rights of a Child(UNCRC).They also spoke on the various types of abuse, what is meant by Paedophilia & the various provisions under the Goa Children’s Act 2003.
The Incharge of Cyber Legal Aid Ms. Gleerose Fernandes then concluded the programme with the vote of thanks.
