In the present day context, skill training has become an essential component of legal education. It is not enough that the students have knowledge of substantial and procedural law. It is vital to their career that they understand, feels and participate in the process of justice administration. In real sense they need to file and argue the case in a Court of law. Time and facilities are a constraint to such an ideal situation.
This lacuna is largely overcome by the system of trial advocacy in a class room situation where in a real life situation is created and the students are required to participate in the proceedings of a case, both civil and criminal, in various capacities. In substance it is a live demonstration of court proceedings. The learning experience gained by the participants in such a process is certainly much better than mere class room silent participation. The method not only gives much more idea about the practical situation but prepares the students to face the realities in a Court of law. They are required to participate in Civil and Criminal case from stage one to the final judgment including appeal stage, the experience of which they would cherish throughout their professional life.
